Lt. Falcon

Lt. Falcon

How does a screw up like Don Johnson Falcon make it through the Green Berets? Much less, how does Nash Bridges he make it through a war with Cobra-La and end up a Spark Junkie? I don’t know how “Sonny” Crockett Falcon became a related-to-Duke punching bag, but you can’t watch G.I. Joe: the Movie as many times as I have and not want an action figure of him.

He had a odd-looking comic pack fig, and then a figure in the Marauders pack, that I salvaged the head, beret and neckerchief from.

Also pictured is my WIP Marauders. Sgt. Slaughter was constantly threatening to whip them into shape, so I wanted to make them more Strac. I kinda think the v2 Convention figures as an intermediate step, but I wanted them to have more of their v1 style.

Big Boa

Big Boa

Big Boa is one of those odd concepts (“Evil Rocky?”) that bugs some folk. I’m not a big fan (he never popped up in the comics or cartoon, only in incidental art), and certainly not the sort to drop upwards of $100 for the club offering on the secondary market.

Enter Tofujesse, who sells a kit (head, gloves, webbing and a barbell), and I’m willing to grab a spare Road Pig, touch it up with some acetone (the Anarchy tat and belt-buckle logo) and go. Army Painter Dragon Red worked pretty well for the webgear. I think the Road Pig cobra tattoo works  on him.

Night Viper Spencer Davis

Night Viper Spencer Davis

When the Night Vipers came out, I really didn’t like that MARS Officer webgear they had, so I replaced it with the ubiquitous Stalker gear.

I bought a few second-hand that had their gear parted out, so I decided to make the GIJCC Operation: Flaming Moth repaint. See, the club used some Viper molds, and made filecards as individuals to differentiate them from army-builders, hence “Spencer Davis”. Just Krylon camouflage and some masking.

Savitar

Savitar

I never had any of Mego’s Eagle Force. I recall there was a scare about Die Cast toys having lead in them that kept me from getting any as a kid. But they had some great comic book-y designs that appeal to a guy who learned to read from Blackhawk comics.

I’ve been meaning to make a Savitar since I read Vintage Ninja’s review, but OreoBuilder making one finally got me off my ass.

Head: Storm Shadow with the hair shaved off
Rest: DG Storm Shadow with Storm Shadow accessories

Ninja Force Scarlett

Ninja Force Scarlett

I really love the batshit arc in the comics where everything goes Ninja Force and Megatron shows up. I can’t bring myself to add in all the little things the filecard has (six-shooter, ninja climbing rope, baseball grenade in her cleavage…).

I’m still not sure whether to lower her head a bit or try fabbing that shoulder armor so she doesn’t seem so goose-necked. I’m also not sure whether I need a better lamp or to get my prescription changed. (The lousy photography is non-negotible :p)

Slice

Slice

I originally used a MU Hand Ninja with a (poorly) sculpted head for Slice. I’ve seen plenty of people use a Red ninja to good effect, but I just didn’t like it. When I bought a new Crimson Guard, I was generally underwhelmed, but I thought I could put it to use.

I used the Airtight head, because it seemed the closest to a fencing helmet (which is what I always assumed that mask was).

Dice

Dice

For the longest time I had a figure that was a copy of the Club recipe (sans lower legs). Then I got inspired by Robert Atkins design.

Gear: Storm Shadow mask, GI Joe Trooper webgear
